How we delivered a full technical SEO overhaul in about a third of the usual time by building with AI-native tools like Cursor, Semrush, and Claude.

Background

Airsan Corporation is a privately held industrial air filter manufacturer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with more than 80 years in operation and a deep product catalog.

Their brand was strong. Of roughly 99 organic visits a month, 82 came from people already searching the company by name. The opportunity was everything beyond that: only 17 visits a month were non-branded, from buyers searching for an air filter problem or product without knowing Airsan existed. For a manufacturer with this catalog and this much engineering depth, that gap represented a large pool of untapped demand.

The site had a handful of common technical issues holding it back. A legacy brand phrase sat in headers and metadata across 37 pages, which confused search engines about which page to rank. Downloadable PDFs were outranking the actual product pages, so buyers landed on documents with no path to request a quote. Many product pages carried more back-end code than readable text, a broken link sat on every page, and schema markup was missing. None of it was unusual, and none of it was hard to fix in principle. The real barrier was effort: a remediation this size typically eats around 30 hours of specialist time, which is exactly what keeps most mid-market manufacturers from ever tackling their SEO at all.

What We Did

We treated the overhaul as an AI-native build rather than a manual project, which is what let us compress roughly 30 hours of work into about 10 without cutting scope. We used Semrush for auditing and keyword tracking, Cursor to make site changes directly, and Claude for analysis and content.

  • Ran a full Semrush technical audit that surfaced the brand confusion, PDF cannibalization, thin content, and technical issues, then packaged it into a phased 90-day plan with clear priorities and quick wins.
  • Implemented the fixes directly in Cursor instead of hand-editing page by page: cleared the legacy brand phrase across all 37 pages, repaired the site-wide broken link, added schema markup, and resolved the PDF cannibalization, then shipped it all in a single off-hours release.
  • Optimized 15 quick-win keywords already sitting on page two across titles, meta descriptions, headers, and buyer-focused copy to push them toward page one.
  • Mapped six missing content clusters, covering 222 search terms and roughly 40,000 monthly searches, for buildout, including washable filters, mesh and stainless steel, and custom filters.
  • Used a Claude-powered customer analysis to surface a top-engineered product that was badly under-ranked relative to its quality and sales potential, which became a priority keyword target we would not have found otherwise.
  • Set up continuous Semrush monitoring that tracks results, with monthly progress reporting to the steering committee.

Impact

The overhaul that would normally take around 30 hours of specialist time was delivered in roughly 10, about 3x faster, and shipped in a single off-hours release with no disruption to the live site. That speed is the point: it makes a full technical SEO reset affordable for a mid-market manufacturer that would otherwise never take it on.

With the foundation now clean, indexed, and pointed at the non-branded terms their buyers actually search, the roadmap targets several times the non-branded organic traffic within 90 days, from a starting point of just 17 visits a month. Ongoing Semrush monitoring tracks progress against that target.
