Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using wyecliff.com and for engaging Wyecliff for paid work. Where a signed statement of work or master services agreement says something more specific, that document wins.
Acceptance
By using wyecliff.com or any Wyecliff-hosted application — including the contact form, newsletter, in-page chat prompt, and the published essay archive — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. There's no further consequence; we just can't form a relationship with you through this surface.
If you are accessing Wyecliff on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company to these terms.
Use of Service
You may read, link to, and share Wyecliff content for any lawful purpose. We'd rather you cite us than not — a Wyecliff link in a deck or a memo is a thing we appreciate, not a thing we police.
You may not (a) attempt to break, scrape, or overwhelm the site or any Wyecliff-hosted tool; (b) impersonate a Wyecliff partner or pretend to represent us; (c) use the site to send unsolicited commercial messages; or (d) use Wyecliff materials to train an AI model for resale without a written license from us.
For paid engagements, the use of any deliverables we ship — internal apps, integrations, eval suites, training materials, runbooks — is governed by the signed statement of work and master services agreement, not by this page.
Intellectual property
Everything we publish on wyecliff.com — essays, newsletter editions, case studies, frameworks, designs, code samples — is owned by Wyecliff or licensed from a third party. You may quote and reference our content with attribution. Republishing whole essays or editions without written permission is not okay.
For client deliverables, the engagement-specific IP terms in the signed agreement govern. Our default for shipped internal systems is: the client owns the deliverable, Wyecliff retains rights to the underlying patterns and tooling we used to build it.
The Wyecliff name, the Wyecliff Weekly mark, and the Wyecliff logo are property of Wyecliff.
Disclaimers
The site and its content are provided “as is.” We do our best to keep things accurate, but Wyecliff makes no warranty — express or implied — about the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content on this site. Essays and newsletter editions are commentary, not advice. If you're making a real business decision, talk to a person — preferably one of us.
External links on this site point to third-party content we don't control. We don't endorse the entirety of any third party we link to; we link because it's useful in context.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wyecliff is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site or its content — including any loss of profit, revenue, data, or business opportunity. Wyecliff's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).
For paid engagements, the limitation-of-liability terms in the signed master services agreement govern instead of this section.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to your use of wyecliff.com will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force.
Contact
Questions about these terms — or a real dispute — go to hello@wyecliff.com. We'd rather hear from you than from a process server.
